A 1930's-era classic lake cottage, with log siding, a two story limestone fireplace, wrap-around screened-in porch with views of the lake, knotty pine panelling and open cedar beams. This two bedroom cabin-style vacation home has one bedroom with a queen bed and one with twin beds and an extra sink. The screen porch also has a double futon and canvas awnings for privacy. The Great Room has mid-century rattan furniture, and a built-in hutch with mid-century pottery. The kitchen is small, but it has a full-sized fridge, a 4 burner stove, microwave, toaster, two compartment sink, two crock pots, and a blender. If you have a bit of nostalgia for the Summer Vacations you had as a kid, this is the place for you! If you're looking for ultra-modern, this may not be the right fit for your family. The floors are pristine maple in the Great Room and the bedrooms, Marmoleum in the kitchen and LVT in the bath. In addition to the stone fireplace, there is also a gas-powered furnace, or two window AC units for less than perfect conditions. The generously-sized shower is all tiled in, with a light and tall shower head. All doors are triple-thick knotty pine, and the hardware is original hammered bronze. There are 2 public boat landings, 1 public (drive--1 mile) and one private (walk--.4 mile) beach, and a swimming and fishing pier, within 1/2 a block's walk. There are also 2 single kayaks for your use, with paddles and lifejackets. Easy walk to the pier with kayaks on provided carts, 1/2 block away. The Glacial-Drumlin and Cam-Rock bike trails are just a few miles away, and it is an easy bike ride into the charming village of Cambridge, with several good coffee shops and restaurants to chose from. Very family oriented. I love the great selection of bands that perform in the new beer garden in summer and inside in winter. You are less than 5 minutes by bike to the Glacial Drumlin Bike trail that connects Iowa to Milwaukee! Cottage Grove to Waukesha is the popular local route that features at least 47 miles of flat biking! You don't have to bike - walking is great too! You are 15 - 20 minutes to many lakes. There are 5 Madison Lakes! (4 are connected and boat rentals available.) Rock Lake in Lake Mills has 2 beautiful public beaches. Sandy Beach ($4/adult) is my favorite with almost 1500' of white sand shoreline and has all sorts of rentals available. Bartel's Beach (free) on the Eastern shore also has a quaint set up with grills and picnic tables. Please search for them online. The water is very clear and you can bike there from home and have a little picnic! You are 8 minutes from Cambridge which also has a public beach and boat rentals. We love coming to the treehouse just off clear Rock Lake. The Treehouse is a getaway, although there are neighbors, you feel as if you are nestled in a grove of trees. The house itself provides places where guests can linger, relax, sip a glass of wine or a cup of java or simply just be. One of my favorite features is the glass windows that wrap up around the ceiling so that it feels like the outside is coming in. *NOTE* children are completely welcome-the property has stairs and a two story wrap around deck fyi.

This roomy house is located right on the shore of Lake Koshkonong. It has a wonderful pier to hang out on or tie boats to. It's a sandy walk into the lake and has views that will take your breath away. There are 2 bedrooms; it has a nice sized master bedroom with a window seat overlooking the lake, and the second bedroom is the entire upper level with 4 beds and still plenty of room. There are two large full bathrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked and with this very open floor plan, you can have a great view of the lake while in the kitchen. The view from the dining room table is the same great view that the kitchen has. There is an inviting living room with a fireplace and also a family room, so that your family and friends can spread out. Both are located at the back of the house for the most spectacular view of the lake. You can use the grill on the large deck to get your party started, or grab the paddle boat and a tasty beverage and enjoy the smooth quiet enjoyment of the lake. If you want to take some time for indoor fun, we have a book exchange, some board games, and a TV with internet. We do have RING door cameras on the exterior front and back to ensure security. There are NO cameras in the house! Lake Koshkonong is not only perfect for summer fun, but there is ice fishing and snowmobiling for winter time entertainment, which makes this the perfect year round get-away. If you don't want to cook, the towns of Edgerton, Fort Atkinson and Janesville are all nearby as well, and Madison is only 30 minutes. It's a quick 2 hour drive to the Chicago area. This is a residential neighborhood, so we ask that you respect the neighbors that may have to get up for work the next morning, and keep your noise level to a minimum. Also, Edgerton has a great Aquatic Facility for relaxing around the pool on a hot summer day. Have lunch at Off The Hook Grub/Pub or The Edgewater Cafe. Pick up some bait and supplies at Treps Bait Shop. Enjoy the sights and sounds of wildlife from the nearby wetlands throughout the seasons. Enjoy great fishing year long, or play on the snowmobile trails. This is a great place to just watch the world go by. Janesville is a great city that is only a 15 minute drive from the Cottage. You can visit the Rotary Botanical Gardens, Rock County Historical Society or the Camden Playground for the kiddies, or bike and roller blade paths. Twenty percent of Wisconsin's buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places are located in Janesville. Janesville has a charming old downtown with the Ice Age bike trail cutting right through town. Fort Atkinson is a 20 minute drive to Fireside Dinner Theatre which has live professional show in the intimate theatre-in-the-round. The Fireside Dinner Theatre is one of the Midwest's most popular entertainment destinations and the only Actor’s Equity dinner theatre in Wisconsin. Fort Atkinson also has riding stables and horseback riding. Cool shopping, Galleries and coffee shops, always a way to spend a fun afternoon checking out downtown Cambridge! Great entertainment under the stars at the Bid Sky Twin Drive-In Theater. The Dells have the best and biggest water parks for the kids! In Mount Horeb, just a short 50 minutes away, you can ski & Snowboard at Tyrol Basin, Go have a glass of wine at Fisher King Winery, visit Cave of the Mounds; or Blue Mounds State Park or visit the Duluth Trading Company for great outdoor/hard working garments and items. Be amazed at the magnificent interior artwork. Located in an interesting part of town, not too far from the Frank Lloyd Wright homes. Beautiful secluded home on Lake Koshkonong in Edgerton, WI There are several things we pride ourselves about our vacation home, and feel like we do better than others, and certainly things you wouldn't find in a hotel: Waterfront: Lake Koshkonong is a 10,000 acre lake and is great for swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, or any other recreational water activities. We are right on the lake with over 40' of waterfront. We have a brand new 30 foot aluminum pier to dock your boat at or swim from. We also have two 10' kayaks available for guests to use. We have steps down to the lake and a spacious beach area. It's not pure sand so shoes are recommended. Comfy beds: We use our vacation home too, so we want it to be as nice and comfortable as our home. You'll find some owners or people managing the property have never slept in the beds of their properties. We've stayed in our lakehouse, just to make sure there aren't any weird annoyances or uncomfortable issues. Like the light from the window that perfectly blinds you as the sun rises.. Each bed has a fluffy down comforter, 1200 thread count sheets, and four pillows. There are a total of 4 bedrooms. 3 Queens, 1 Full, 4 Twins, 1 sofa. Full kitchen: We have a fully stocked kitchen. Full service, glasses, plates, silverware, mugs, bowls. We have pots, pans, serving utensils, a blender, toasters and appliances if you feel like cooking during your stay. We've tried to think of anything we'd want in our kitchen, please let us know if you find anything that you think we're missing! Entertainment: We have a 55" 4K LED HDTV in the living room with a Roku with Netflix. We have several games and board games in the dresser near the dining room table. Patios/Deck: We have two huge patios/decks with seating for several people. On the patio, we have a fire pit and propane grill for your use. Secluded: Our place is very quiet at night. We have two decks overlooking the lake, and both are perfect for hanging out on enjoying the view and outdoors. Space: This place has a great view of the Lake Koshkonong, it is secluded and on a wooded lot. We have four bedrooms and a ton of beds, so you are welcome to bring your family and friends to enjoy it with you! Family: We have plastic kids cups, plates, bowls and utensils. The place has a high chair and a nice, clean, working pack and play. We do not allow parties or events. We respect our neighbors and our neighborhood. Please keep noise down after 9PM. We reserve the right to evict in the event of any party or noise complaints. Additional guests beyond what was listed and paid for on the booking are not allowed.
